Rug care

Regular maintenance keeps your rug looking and feeling its best for years.

How to care for your new rug

To get the most life out of your rug, treat it with care and keep up regular maintenance.

Vacuuming

Regular vacuuming helps remove dust and debris from the pile, increasing the life of your rug. Avoid powerful vacuums and turbine heads that may damage the pile.

Cleaning spills

Clean spills immediately. Blot with a colour-free absorbent cloth from the outside in. Stubborn marks may need carpet detergent or a professional cleaner.

Rotating

Rotate your rug regularly for even wear and to reduce the chance of fading in high-traffic or sunny spots.

Fading

Continuous sunlight can fade rugs. Avoid direct sun where possible, and rotate regularly to minimise uneven colour change.

Shedding

New rugs often shed excess fibres from production — this reduces over time. Wool and acrylic can shed lightly for the life of the rug.
